GRACE

Kissed by God

A drop from above
that falls
into me.

Lightness
warmth
kindness
So gentle,
that the words
almost seem
too coarse.

But
this kiss lies
within me,
dripping from above,
spreading its wonders.

Unfolds its balm into my heart,
lays its wings into my eyes,
streams into my nerves,
into my blood and breath,
and nourishes from within
my being
right down to my bones,
to the

MARROW.

I notice,
pause,
am touched,
amazed,

THANK YOU.

Thank you for the grace.
How else could I describe it
than the kiss of the divine?

It cannot be bought.
It cannot be made.
It cannot be worked for.
It cannot be negotiated.
It is
simply there
where it is.

C’est tout.

That is all.

And when I see with its eyes,
then I can recognize it in everything.

And I give thanks
for the grace,
to be allowed
to experience
this look
for a moment.

I feel
BLESSED

I feel
LOVED

I feel
RICH

I feel
SAFE

in her embrace.

Like a line to God
(or however
“that which is inexpressible”
may be called).

The gift of memory
of that which always is.

Like the sun,
that always shines.

And I am happy,
when the clouds break,
and its rays
warmthen
my skin
and my heart.
